From fixing people’s computers at Staples to donating a million dollars to freeCodeCamp.
Nathan was a college dropout. He spent years earning minimum wage Staples helping people fix their computers.
He knew he was capable of doing more. So he learned to code using freeCodeCamp.
He wanted to help other people in similar situations.
Thanks to support from Nathan and the @KaijuKingz community, we are building a carbon-neutral Web3 curriculum.
This free curriculum will teach the fundamentals of smart contracts and distributed application development.
This will be a stand-alone curriculum that you can choose to tackle whenever you feel ready.
The prerequisites will involve learning full stack web development through the first 7 freeCodeCamp certifications.
(As with all aspects of freeCodeCamp, you're welcome to skip around.)
Our goal is to help people learn these skills so they can get one of the thousands of open jobs that require these Web3 technologies, or start entrepreneurial projects of their own.
Here's a full overview of the planned curriculum + an FAQ. freecodecamp.org
As always, this will all be free, open source, carbon-neutral, and respectful of learners' privacy (self-hostable).
We are excited to put this kind donation from Nathan and the @kaijukingz community to good use helping people around the world learn to code for free. 🏗️
