1. Khalid Umar on Naseeruddin Shah's "Mughals were Refugees".
2. It is surprising when an acclaimed Indian Muslim actor Naseeruddin Shah in a TV interview proclaimed Mughals came to India as refugees - sort of “well-off refugees”. He termed Mughal atrocities as “so called” while praising the culture, architecture, etc they gave to India.
3. Such nonsense is uttered on the land, which has over 10,000 years of recorded civilisational history. A land whose contribution towards science, music, arts, sculpture, literature, medicine, architecture, food are unparalleled in the human race.
4. India has suffered 1,000 years unabated of attacks, looting, killings and desecration by Islamic invaders starting with the Arab invasion of Sindh in the 8th century and...
5. and later by the establishment of early Sultanates and then Ghori, Khilji, Tughlaq, Syed, Lodhi and Suri dynasties who came before (Humayun) Mughal dynasty of 315 years.
6. Will Durant argued in his 1935 book “The Story of Civilisation: Our Oriental Heritage” (page 459):

7. "....forced conversions, abduction of Hindu women and children to slave markets and the destruction of temples carried out by the warriors of Islam during 800 AD to 1700 AD. Millions of Hindus were converted to Islam by sword during this period.”
8. The hypocrisy is glaringly obvious if someone can overlook the atrocious record of Aurangzeb but can lament the “oppression” of Muslims during the Modi Government!!
