2. Puli Thevar was born in 1715 to Chitra Putra Thevar and Sivagnanam Nachiyar. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 word p𝐮𝐥𝐢 𝐢𝐧 𝐓𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐬 t𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐫, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐌𝐚𝐡𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐚 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐮𝐩 𝐭𝐨 𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐞.
3. Unmatched in the skill of warfare, understanding of politics and full of fire, this man was born to be a rebel. He was knowledgeable in politics and was a proficient warrior.
4. The soldiers of the nawab of Arcot made an alliance with the British and together they captured him. While being taken to the Sankaran Kovil Temple, Thevar was taken via several villages to be humiliated.
5. The nawab's army left him in the temple for some time before they took him to the court. Puli Thevar's history after that is completely unknown. It is said that while being lodged in the temple he prayed and sang hymns to Bhagwan Mahadev.
6. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 nawab's 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐫𝐬 standing guard outside the temple 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 sound of metal chains 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠. A 𝐟𝐞𝐰 of them went inside 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐞𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 was 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 they 𝐬𝐚𝐰 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐮𝐧𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞.
7. There were 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐛𝐫𝐨𝐤𝐞𝐧 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬. 𝐏𝐮𝐥𝐢 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐯𝐚𝐫 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 to be seen. P𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐬𝐚𝐲 𝐁𝐡𝐚𝐠𝐰𝐚𝐧 𝐒𝐡𝐢𝐯𝐚 𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐧 𝐡𝐢𝐦 𝐭𝐨 𝐊𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐡.
