Here is a comparison/analysis of Indian Democracy & US Democracy :
1st Parameter - Election process :
India conducts regular elections using EVMs, VVPATs & highly accurate voter lists (prepared in a door-to -door campaign) & EVMs are opened/sealed in presence of contestants.
Whereas, US conducts using ballot papers & below are some reports ⤵️
2nd Parameter - Press Freedom :
If you google then you'll find that there are more Anti-Modi articles in Indian media than Anti-Biden articles are in US media.
Just check by yourself the reportings of Wire, Telegraph, Caravan, Newslaundry, NDTV, Hindu, Scroll, Print, etc.
Unlike US media which is centralized & owned/controlled by Billionaires/Oligarchs, Indian media is way more 'decentralized'.
Here are some reports regarding Press Freedom in US ⤵️
3rd Parameter - Domestic laws :
India facing two-front war & various separatist movements & that's why it need laws like AFSPA, UAPA, sedition, etc.
While, US has very friendly neighbors but still has laws like Espionage Act, FARA, PATRIOT Act & USG 2381,2382,2383,2384,2385.
We are all aware how US is 'hunting' Snowden & Assange right now.
Here a testimony about Espionage Act ⤵️
4th Parameter - Right to Protests :
In India, people are free to protests in any way they like, they can block roads, destroy public property, attack police, atc, and still will go unpunished.
In US, you can't do above things & Capitol Hill protestors are prosecuted/jailed.
5th Parameter - Religious Freedom :
India has 15% of Muslims & 2.3% of Christians out of total population.
US has 1% of Hindus & 1.1% of Muslims out of total population.
There are more Churches & Mosques in India than there are Temples in US.
Missionaries are openly running conversion rackets in India, while BAPS temples are harassed in US.
Christmas is a National Holiday in India, while Diwali is NOT a National Holiday in US.
Minorities became Prez/PM(MMS, Kalam) in India, while US has ONLY Christian Prez till now.
6th Parameter - Social Justice & Minority Rights :
India recognizes religious(no specific religion mentioned) & linguistic minorities, while US recognizes ONLY five minorities African American, Hispanic, Native American, Asian Pacific or Asian Indian.
Indian state providing free Educational Scholarships to religious minorities & Haj/हज़ subsidies, US provides NO such facilities.
India provides "reservation" to backward Hindu castes to compensate for past injustices, US provides NO such facilities to Natives or Blacks.
7th Parameter - Immigration policies :
US Congressmen, commentators & media alleges that "Indian Democracy is backsliding" due to laws like CAA & NRC.
However, CAA is meant to fast track citizenship to religiously persecuted minorities in Pakistan, Bangladesh & Afghanistan.
And, NRC is meant to curb illegal immigration to India.
Not to forget - India hosting millions of Tibetans, Bangladeshis & Rohingyas.
Whereas, US itself has one of the strictest immigration laws in the World, ask any Indian Americans they'll tell you about "backlogs".
Also, US itself gives fast track citizenship to pesercuted Christian.
US built a "wall" to stop illegal immigrants.
Europe refusing African/Middle East immigrants & also discriminating on the basis of religion.
UK passed a law to revoke citizenship of immigrants.
Few Reports from Europe/UK ⤵️
8th Parameter - Women Empowerment :
India had woman President, PM, many CMs & 50% of seats are reserved for women in grassroot Panchayati Raj.
Whereas, US has NEVER elected a woman POTUS in it's entire history.
Also, 19 out of 50 US States have NEVER got a woman Governor.
9th Parameter - Climate Action :
The less we talk about this, the better.😅
However, here is a separate thread to highlight the "track record" of US on Climate Action ⤵️
10th Parameter - Public Trust :
On one hand, Indians have a high trust in Indian Democracy,
On the other, Americans trust in their Democracy & government have reached "historic low".
Also, many believe that "US is NO longer a good model of Democracy" ⤵️
