Communism: A Disaster for Bengal and India
By Guru Prasad
1. Imagine trying to construct a tall skyscraper for which you spend years building the foundation. But after constructing a few floors, you discard it and then start all over again at some other location...
2. thereby losing precious time & resources, which in turn drags you back by several years. This is exactly what happened with India's growth story post independence.
3. Throughout the 19th century and first half of 20th century, Calcutta had established itself as the defacto hub for everything from industries to arts, and from intellectual spheres to technologies. All the best industrialists were in Calcutta.
4. Most of the best scientists were in Calcutta. And so on. Just like how ambitious youngsters of 21st century aspire going to US to unleash their dreams, youngsters of 20th century used to dream of going to Calcutta to unleash their dreams.

6. gradual but complete collapse of Calcutta (and Bengal in general). Had the Bengali intellectuals not embraced Marxism, the city with such deep economic/industrial foundation would have taken our nation to great heights within a matter of decades.
7. But the commies who had ruined the Bengali mindset had their own plans, as they curbed every possible growth and strangled India for 3 decades! However, thanks to bold reforms like liberalization & initiatives of IT revolution, our nation managed to pick up pace from 1990s.
8. And we are now finally in a position to aspire becoming a developed nation. The only moral of this story which every Indian should be taught right from their childhood: "Never ever allow commies to even come close to us, let alone influenching us."
9. As long as we keep that in mind, nothing can stop our nation from reaching its true potential.
