EPIC HACK FOR INTERNS (inspired by @Karan__Jani)! One way to ⏫ lab review efficiency is to make .dotphrases for labs you commonly trend! (Think: platelets in heme patients, creatinine in ICU patients.) Here's a .dotphrase I made for a trend of 5 most recent plt counts! 1/5
To do this, open SmartPhrase Manager and create a new Smart Phrase (ie .dotphrase). You're going to make multiple .dotphrases for different lab trends, so keep the naming consistent (eg PLTtrend, WBCtrend, LFTtrend). 2/5
To have your .dotphrase spit out the 5 most recent platelet values, use the text between the @ symbols in this photo (ie RESUFAST). Inside the (parentheses) you'll put whatever lab you want to trend, then a colon, and then the # of labs you want to see in the trend. 3/5
For labs other than platelets, see the key below. The right column should be the text you put inside the (parentheses). (Hopefully this is the same key at your institution...) 4/5
If you want quick access to multiple related lab trends, put a comma after the first lab (without a space after the comma), and repeat until you're done. Here's how I trend electrolytes! 5/5
