2/9 Our vision is for Polygon SDK to effectively transform Ethereum into a full-fledged multi-chain system (aka Internet of Blockchains). πΈοΈβοΈ
By doing this, it will at the same time further establish Polygon as the leading scaling and infrastructure platform of Ethereum. π«

3/9 A little known fact is that Ethereum is already the biggest multi-chain in the world!
It has organically developed and grew to host a multitude of chains that are all adding value to its ecosystem:
π 150+ EVM chains;
π Hundreds of enterprise chains;
π Dozens of L2s.

4/9 Organic innovation is the beauty and strength of Ethereum, but its side effect is an unstructured, hard to navigate scaling/infra landscape.
Polygon SDK aims to introduce structure to the ecosystem and provide a framework for Multi-chain Ethereum to grow further and faster.

5/9 Multi-chain Ethereum will be akin to other popular multi-chains (Polkadot, Cosmos etc), but with some major upsides:
π Ability to benefit from Ethereumβs network effects;
π Higher security (Polygon chains can inherit security from Ethereum)
π More flexible and powerful.

6/9 Polygon SDK aims to support building two major types of solutions:
1β£ Stand-alone chains: sidechains, enterprise chains etc.
2β£ Secured chains aka L2s: Optimistic Rollups, zkRollups etc.
This release supports stand-alone chains, L2s will be introduced in future releases.

8/9 This first public beta release supports an initial set of modules and, as mentioned, stand-alone chains only.
In the future we will be introducing:
π L2 support;
π More consensus algorithms;
π Inter-chain/bridging modules;
π Plugin system;
π Enterprise modules etc.

We are very excited to see Polygon SDK in the wild, helping great projects succeed and making @0xPolygon and Ethereum stronger! π¦π«π₯
