THREAD - @Polkadot Digest 25 May 2021
#Polkadot News
A bug in the Rust compiler used to build Polkadot's on-chain Wasm binary caused block production to halt for approximately an hour yesterday. Blocks are being produced normally again.
Validators - please ensure you are running version 0.8.30 and running with "--execution=native". The latter is because rustc generated different code for 0.8.30 for the native and Wasm runtime.
A patched version of the latest build should be ready soon. No slashes have occurred or will occur to validators for issues during this time.
You may notice more oversubscribed validators than normal this era, and your nominations may be split amongst numerous validators instead of being concentrated on one. This is temporary and I wrote up why it is happening on Reddit - reddit.com
The initial proposer (and the Parity development team) have asked the Council to reject (and if made a referendum, the public to reject) the motion to increase the heap page size. This change will be made in the next Polkadot release. polkadot.polkassembly.io

Referendum 112, to modify the heap size increase, has failed, after the Parity development team said that this change would be added in the next Polkadot release. kusama.polkassembly.io
