The above image shows one way: why not introduce frameworks into preclinical courses? Follow this up with a deep dive into each topic, from pathology to management. A curated collection of practical supplemental material could be presented alongside relevant material.
For example, see the below image. Alongside vasculitis, courses could present @DrEricStrong's beautiful guide to hypoxemia & pulmonary edema in CXRs, and @CPSolvers's vasculitis-related illness scripts & schemas.
With a P/F Step 1 system, I'm hoping this is where we're going! Do any other schools have a system like this in place? How does your school balance teaching the pathology most of us will forget with the practical teaching needed for clinical year?
