Have you ever wondered who is in charge of unloading your bags from the aircraft to the breakdown line of the conveyor belt that is part of the Baggage Handling System?
This is the responsibility of the Ground Handling agents appointed by the airlines to manage both flight and passenger operations from the minute an aircraft arrives, to the moment it takes off again.
Among the Ground Handling companies operating at KUL include AeroDarat, Ground Team Red (GTR), Pos Aviation and D'viation Technics. The ground handling agents are also responsible in providing a wide range of services that help to facilitate an aircraft.
The Ground Handling agents deal with thousands of bags of various sizes and shapes on a daily basis. The bags are transferred by them from the aircraft to the arriving baggage conveyor system for sorting purposes before being directed to the correct delivery path.
It is not an easy task for the Ground Handling agents, even more so when it rains and the weather condition is bad. These agents may require extra time in unloading the bags due to safety measures.
During times like these, bags may take slightly longer to arrive at the reclaim area.
